ISTE CEO visits BIS

Brian Lewis at BIS
Mr. Lewis enjoyed the work of our students

Dear BIS Community,

The IT Department has kept very quiet so far, but this week we had an extraordinary visit: Mr. Brian Lewis, CEO of International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE, www.iste.org) spent some time visiting Bali Island School, to learn more about our community and the way our teachers and students use technology to enhance learning.

The International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) is the premier nonprofit organization serving educators and education leaders committed to empowering connected learners in a connected world. Through its program and services the organization supports more than 100,000 education stakeholders throughout the world. ISTE has nearly 20,000 members internationally, representing all sectors of the education community and its stakeholders, including teachers, library media specialists, technology coordinators, teacher educators and administrators. It has an affiliate network that expands its reach to 100,000 leaders and emerging leaders around the planet.

Needless to say, Mr. Lewis was very impressed with the educational excellence on display at BIS. As we look forward to enhancing the deliberate, learning-oriented integration of technology in our classrooms, we will look towards ISTE for the guidance and recognized standards appropriate for a World-class education.
