Bali MUN 2016

Call for Bali MUN Delegates/ Officers/ Press Team Members

Acting for Change, November 4-5 2016

MUN1

A Grade 9 student, who had just joined the Model UN Club for the first time, had asked me: “It is a bit like acting, right?” a recurring question in this after-school activity. While our delegates may be pretending, they are also learning to act effectively on the world stage. By increasing their knowledge of international affairs, expanding their world views and developing vital leadership skills, Model UN Delegates are preparing to make a real impact in the world.  Take it all from Ryan Naminski, the Leo Nevas Human Rights Fellow with the United Nations Association (UNA): “if more young people participate in Model UN, the world will likely see not only more great leaders, but ultimately more happy endings”.

Many MUN participants have become leaders in diplomacy, politics, law and media

(e.g. Ban Ki-Moon, UN secretary general ,& Samuel L. Jackson, actor/producer).

MUN2

It looks as if our delegates are not too far behind…  as they are planning and preparing for our annual event.

We are thrilled that Bali Island School will host the annual Bali Model United Nations Conference at Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel. Our co-host this year is Dyatmika.

Zach Ingrasci and Chris Temple from Living on One Dollar Organisation will be visiting all the way from the United States to discuss their latest project documentary: Salam Neighbor. We are stoked they are on board to give a workshop too to teachers. There will be more surprises.

Please encourage your child to take part in this amazing event and take a couple of seconds to fill out the form here. The cost per student is 1, 600, 000 IDR to be paid at the Business Office by September 10th. Please quote “Bali MUN 2016. The registration is also open to individual delegates.
