Primary Principal Update – Literacy Day & Conferences

Thank you for your involvement in and around the school during these opening few weeks. Seeing parents attend our open house, the primary share, parent workshops and the 30th anniversary celebration is meaningful to our students. It says something important about the value you place in our school.

Thank you and sorry to those of you who were able to join us on Thursday morning for our literacy day read on the grass. I believe a sprinkle of rain is considered good luck… It was great to see our community relaxing with a book at the start of the school day. We will continue to explore stories this week with our visiting author, Sally Rippin. She will be joining us on Thursday to help us generate and develop inspirational ideas.

As yimg_0020ou know, conferences are scheduled for Wednesday, September 28th. The purpose of this day in the primary school is to recognize & celebrate the achievements of our students and to identify & communicate areas that may need improvement. It is also an opportunity to articulate future learning goals. Please do join us for this if you can. Conferences are a great opportunity to build a strong home-school link.

The primary office will be generating a master schedule next week, and you will receive a personal invitation to attend. If you have more than one child, we will try to ensure that your conferences are not too far apart. We hope you enjoy your meetings and ask that you are considerate about attending and ending your conferences punctually.

Thank you as always for your ongoing support,
Alan Lorenzini
