Week 7-EOTC’s are Here!

What an exciting time of the year for our students and teachers.  We are about to embark on a tremendous learning and bonding experience.  To be able experience different cultures, challenge your comfort level, connect with your peers and be active in a picturesque natural environment and still call it school!  I am sure that I speak for the majority of our parents when I say, ‘I wish I had these opportunities when I was going to school.’

All of the information has been shared with families, contact numbers have been set, it is now time to take on these challenges and grow from this experience.  Each trip leader will be in contact with the school throughout the week and updates will presented via Enews as the week goes on.  I am looking forward to my EOTC as I am able to be a part of the DP trip to Les Village.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are a perfect opportunity to work as a team towards the educational growth of our students.  The more that we are able to share information, provide feedback and support one another the better able we are to help our students reach their potential.

We will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, September 28th from 1pm-6pmStudents will be dismissed from school at 12:30 on that day and any Secondary ASA will not be able to run as our teachers will be meeting with you, the parents.  Please make sure that your student has been picked up from school as there will be no way to supervise the students and our library will be used for the Primary Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Students are welcomed to come to their conferences, but they must arrive with their parent, not wait on campus until their parent arrives.  To help facilitate our sign-up process, parents will be given the ability to electronically setup a conference time instead of having to come in, line up, and see if a teacher will be available to meet.   We ask that parents and students prioritize the teachers they would like to meet with, as schedules will fill very quickly.  This information and electronic link will be sent out in the coming week.

BIS Student Pictures

It is school picture time again.  Individual student pictures will be taken for the Secondary Students on Tuesday, September 20th.  All students will have their individual photos taken.  Seniors will have their photos taken in their Graduation Cap and Gown.  Class photos will be taken at a later date. This day follows very quickly after our EOTC week, so please make sure that your student is aware of the picture day.

Thank you for your continued interest and support of BIS and our students.
