Emergency Help Phone Number

Thank you to all the parents who attended the Campus Security and Child Protection presentation on Monday. It was wonderful to see the interest in the community and to recognise the parents’ support and desire to help BIS continue to be a leader in this field.

One excellent question was regarding an emergency help number in Bali – the equivalent of ‘911’ in the US or ‘000’ in Australia. As with most European countries the emergency number in Bali is ‘112’. The operators all speak English.

An alternative number for Bali is 0361 22 3333. This number proved to be far more reliable when trialed by our school nurse Ibu Surya. After a number of attempts at ‘112’ she was yet to be answered. On trialing 0361 22 3333 she connected first time. She then questioned the lack of response to ‘112’ and was told the widespread knowledge of the number meant people are often trialling it and locking up the lines.

Therefor, our recommendation is that you have 0361 22 3333 saved as your emergency number on your phones.
