Welcome to Blake Ingram

Dear Secondary Parents,

Ms. MacDonald will commence maternity leave on Wednesday and we wish her well for her impending arrival. We have been very fortunate to find a well-credentialed teacher to teach Ms. MacDonald’s classes until she returns in December. Please join me in welcoming Mr. Blake Ingram.

Regards,

Ross Ferris – Secondary Principal

Greetings!

My name is Blake Ingram. I am a father to two boys in the Primary School here at BIS. My family and I moved here  in July for my wife’s job. We were living in the Philippines for the last 4 years but are originally from the United States. As a matter of fact, I grew up not far from where Ms. MacDonald grew up. I have been fortunate to be a stay at home father for the last 4 years and completed some online work during that time.

My background is quite diverse as I am a musician and part time web developer. I also was a teacher in the US for many years, most of that in the state of Massachusetts. I have a Master’s degree in education and taught secondary science, including biology, earth science, and some chemistry. The curriculum for our school was an inquiry based curriculum that had many of the same elements as the MYP, particularly around instructional practices. So, even though my subject matter was different, the principles of instruction and assessment are familiar to me.

I am happy to help BIS to fill the position for Ms. MacDonald while she is out on maternity leave. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at bingram@baliis.net. Thank you!
