Ubud Writers & Readers Festival at BIS, Oct 30th

BIS has the pleasure of hosting two authors this upcoming Friday, 30th of October, within the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2015.

Sofie Laguna – Creative writing and compelling characters

Sofie Laguna is an author, actor, and playwright. Her many books for young people have been named Honour Books and Notable Books in the Children’s Book Council of Australia Book of the Year Awards. Sofie will share her tips, techniques and tricks so that you too can create powerful engaging characters.

Time: 9-10 (session 1), 10:05-11 (session 2), 11:05-12 – (session 3)
Number of students: 44 students, 30 students, 27 students
Ages: Session 1 (Grades 1 and 2), Session 2 (Grade 3), Session 3 (Grades 4 and 5)

Ee’da – Writing and performance poetry

Ee’da is a spoken-word performance artist, a dancer, an arts educator and a singer/songwriter. Her workshop will centre around writing exercises that will help students tap into their potential as budding writers/poets, also touching on the performative aspects of spoken word.
