Security Update

Dear BIS Community,

The ongoing threat of terrorism in Indonesia, and globally, has been driven home by the attacks in Jakarta and, earlier this week, the release of a letter indicating the intent to carry out similar attacks in Bali. Whilst this letter received a lot of attention both in social and mainstream media, Indonesian authorities have suggested it was a hoax and, though security levels remain high around Bali, international and government security agencies assess that this is not indicative of any imminent threat of a terrorist attack.

As a school we continue to monitor the situation with the assistance of the Australian and US governments, as well as a number of parents involved in the security industry, and will update the community as information comes to hand.
