ISA tests in Secondary
This year we have chosen to administer International Schools’ Assessment (ISA) tests to grades 7, 9 and 10. The students will take tests in Mathematical Literacy, Scientific Literacy, Reading and Writing. The Science tests are on-line and the others are paper tests.
These tests have multiple purposes, which include: data that the school uses to inform and improve teaching and learning; highlighting of strong and weaker areas in subjects; familiarizing students with test-taking, and giving a snapshot of an individual’s results on the day of the test. These last we will share with the parents of each student who took the tests.
This week the grades involved have had practice of the tests. The actual tests will take place on the mornings of 15, 16 & 17 February.
Please encourage your child to have a good night’s sleep and breakfast before the tests, and also emphasise to them that worrying will not help, and that these are not high stakes tests!
