From the Music Room
The Taman Bacaan Music Service as Action Group has made some excellent progress this term. The group’s philosophy is that all children deserve access to music education and are starting to apply this with our local Taman Bacaan students. Thus far the BIS MYP students have initiated music lessons on Thursday afternoons and have delivered two highly productive sessions.
Taman Bacaan students have learnt pieces on piano and sung several songs, as well as working on the English pronunciation.
More events such as bake sales and Battle of Bands are in the pipeline, look out for more information in next week’s edition of the eNews.
In other music news, please mark June 3 in your diary as it is the BIS Music Academy Recital, which will commence at 3pm in the MPR. The program will showcase the progress of students learning instruments in the after school music program. If you are interested in learning more about this program, feel free to visit the website at https://bismusicacademy.wordpress.com/.
Your child may be interested in joining the program at the start of next year. Otherwise, we look forward to seeing a healthy turnout for the concert on June 3.
Finally, the Balinese Gamelan & Dance Groups are tirelessly working with their instructors Ibu
Dewi, Pak Wayan and Pak Janu in order to prepare for their feature performance at the graduation ceremony next Friday. We are excited to showcase this beautiful artform with the antique gamelan set from Klungkung that the PTFA purchased through funds rasied in 2011.
