Primary Musical Journeys
Grade 1 is currently having fun learning children’s games and songs from all around the world in music lessons. Not only are they learning music, but they are also discovering a lot of new things. This learning journey helps them to appreciate and understand more about their friends’ cultures.

I never thought that the Disney castle was inspired by Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany. I like to sing “ Horch, was kommt van draussen rein “ from Germany, especially the “Holahi Holaho” part. – Zach

First I thought all the instruments were mostly made from wood. Now I understand
there is a Chinese instrument, which is made from snake-skin. Its name is “erhu”- Sinar

This is what we found out about the similarity of children’s games from all around the world:
1. Most of them are played in circles
2. Many of them, will choose 1 child to stand in the circle
3. Most of them, are guessing games
4. They all have music/songs
Grade 1 makes a book about music from all around the world, and they can’t wait to share this with all of you!
