PSAT College Entrance Test – Grade 9 and 10 Parents
On Wednesday October 25, 2017 Grade 10 (current Grade 9) and 11 students (current Grade 10) have the option of taking the PSAT. The PSAT stands for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test. It is the shorter practice test for the SAT US college admissions test. Students may sign up for this test using this link. They will need to pay the Business Office 350.000 IDR by May 18. The students will take this 2.5 hour test during school hours in the morning.
All students considering studying in the USA (even if it is a small possibility), should take the test. It is also a good experience in standardized testing, so all students are welcome to give it a try.
Taking the PSAT gives students access to Kahn Academy resources, and practice tests/quizzes that can help them prepare for the SAT. Grade 11 students (current Grade 10), could take the PSAT in October and then take their first SAT test in March and/or May 2018. Alternatively, Grade 11 students could opt to skip the PSAT in October and take the SAT in December 2017. I will be speaking to the students about the PSAT and how to prepare for it. American Grade 11 students who do well in the PSAT may qualify for scholarships. For more information about the PSAT please click here.
