Message from the Head of School – February 15, 2019

On Tuesday, I attended an IB Schools in Indonesia meeting in Jakarta. I was able to meet Mr. Haif Bannayan, Ms. Stefanie Leong, Head of Development and Recognition Asia-Pacific and Mr. Faizol Musa. We discussed how working together as an Association would benefit conversations with the Ministry of Education, bringing more IB professional development opportunities to Indonesia, and discussing current trends Asia-Pacific universities are seeing with our IB graduates. The schools thanked our Board and Ms. Denise Walsh for their efforts and support in creating the association’s by-laws and structure. The good work of our school lawyer, and support from BIS has set the stage for the association to flourish. It was a very productive meeting and the association is eager to get to work. Thanks BIS!

I am afraid I must change the date of my Parent Coffee to the 6th of March. Mr. Eldred informed me that the Early Years students will present to parents on March 1, and we want all parents to be able to attend both events. March 6 at 8:00 a.m. will be the Head of School Parent Information Coffee. The session will focus on Bali Island School’s recruitment season and ensuring Child Protection practices are in place throughout.
