Secondary Newsletter 5 – August 30, 2019
Dear Parents,
This is a short edition due to all of Secondary being away on EOTC trips this week. Please view the EOTC Website for photos, videos, and reflections from each of the trips. There was so much learning evident on these trips and the level of meaningful community service and interaction was vastly improved this year. Students were able to build new friendships with their peers and also get to know their teachers in a setting outside of the classroom. All indications are that this week was a huge success, we will continue to reflect in order to improve even further for next year.
Parent Session – School Online Accounts (Monday, September 2nd)
Join us this Monday for an overview of our online resources, and how we use them at BIS. Following that we will have a short Q & A session regarding this years BYOD program in Grades 2-5. At the end of the session the tech staff will be available to answer any questions, and help you access these resources. All are welcome to join, but the primary audience will be those new to BIS, and parents of students in Grade 2-5 interested in getting more information about our BYOD program.
When: 8:00 – 9:00 AM, Monday, Sept 2nd
Where: School Library
World Literacy Day
Please note that we will celebrate World Literacy Day on Friday, September 6. We encourage all students to come dressed as their favourite book character. The whole school will meet on the Primary field at 745 with a book to read. We will have 30 minutes together before normal classes begin for the day.
