Distance Learning

Our Primary students will commence Distance Learning from Monday morning 16th March until Wednesday afternoon 18th March.  Distance Learning will resume after the school holiday on Monday 30th March to Thursday 9th April and we are expecting  Bali Island School will reopen for students on Monday 13th April.

Our teachers have been preparing for the possibility of a school closure for the last month and we believe we are ready to hit the ground running next Monday. The Preschool to Grade 4 teachers have sent home Learning Packs and will supplement this with daily videos and learning activities shared on See Saw (and Google Classrooms for Grades 4 – 5). If you have not had a chance to review the BIS Distance Learning website, please click here to access it.  It has valuable information for parents about how we see Distance Learning working successfully at BIS, and the roles to be played by students, teachers, and parents.

Please direct any questions about your child’s learning to their teacher and copy me in primaryprincipal@baliis.net

Thank You For The Music

Thank you to all parents and friends that joined for one of the three successful performances of Thank You For the Music last week. The students and staff worked very hard preparing for the shows and the students were very excited to be able to perform in front of such good audiences. We will share copies of the video with all families once we receive it.

Term 4 After School Activities

Our Primary Student Council (Stu Co) met last week and discussed a number of After School Activities (ASAs) they would like to have offered in Term 4. Following on from this Sabeer (Gr 2), Hannah (Gr 2) and Tahlia (Gr 5) sought student input and this has been taken into consideration for our planning. A Term 4 highlight is the Athletics ASA that is offered to K – Gr 5 students on a Wednesday afternoon where our students are broken into groups and rotate through a range of track and field activities to help prepare them for our school athletics carnival. We also offer two ASAs to our Preschool 4 students in Term 4 to support their transition to Kindergarten next year. Sign up sheets will be sent out when we re-open in April. I look forward to meeting with the Primary Stu Co when we return to work with them on a number of initiatives they would like to implement for our school.
