Secondary Newsletter 2 – August 13, 2021

News From The College Counseling Department

Thanks for reading the counseling post this week. In my weekly post I will share interesting articles and information from the education, counseling and college admissions experts from all over the world. I will share invitations for our students and parents to attend webinars and virtual events as well.

The time is here for G12 students to write their personal statements or motivational letters. I have some great links to resources and/or workshops about writing a quality Personal Statement. Please have a look at the links and don’t hesitate to send me an email if you have any questions.

The Common App essay prompts will remain the same for 2021-2022 with one exception. We will retire the seldom-used option about solving a problem and replace it with the following:

For G12 students who start writing their personal statement, get you FREE GUIDE TO PERSONAL STATEMENT WRITING here. College Essay Guy is opening registration for live, pay-what-you-can college application and essay courses. The course comes in two parts:

Students will receive all the video lessons as soon as they register, and can then join me for live sessions throughout September.

Can’t afford the course? Access is one of my core values. As with all of my courses, I have pay-what-you-can spots available. Students who can’t afford the cost of the course can request a spot at the link above.

Hope to see you there,
Ethan
