COUNSELOR UPDATE
BIS CAREER WEEK 2023
We want to say a big ‘Thank you’ to all the parents who participated in the BIS Career Day last week and also the parents and staff members who helped us find a team of great guest speakers for our students.
In the week of April 10-14 we have another career event, this time only for Grade 10 students, who will leave the BIS campus for one week to do an internship of their choice. The main purpose of this internship program is for students to explore their ideas about their future careers by observing and participating in what goes on in a particular profession. This allows our students to experience how some of the knowledge and skills they are learning in school are applied outside the classroom into work life. This will help them to determine if this specific career path is suitable for them.
We ask for your help again, this time in suggesting or providing us with information about the company or workplace that is open to providing a Grade 10 student with an internship experience. It might be your own workplace or somebody you know who can show our students what a workweek in your profession looks like. We are looking for the following career path and more: engineering, psychology, music, medicine, communication, business, photography, maths, and architecture.
Please let us know if you have any ideas, and then we will follow up by contacting the company.

Thank you in advance for helping us create a meaningful experience for our students.

This will not expire and can be redeemed if the winning student wants to study at one of the universities or colleges on their tour this Spring.
