Message From the Head of School – April 24, 2020
This morning our Secondary Division hosted an assembly. There were lots of celebrations of learning, a few laughs, and important reporting about social action our students are initiating. Well done to everyone for making this happen.
While living in Bali is a daily joy, it is one we do not take for granted. As BIS community members we are keenly aware of our host country’s efforts to control COVID-19 and the impact the pandemic is having on our neighbours, friends, and community. BIS will meet this challenge, we will provide assistance, and we will return the grace, courage, and smiles we receive from our host nation each day. Thank you to our students who are continuing to creatively help us all meet our responsibilities as globally-minded citizens.
I enjoyed the podcast discussion yesterday on Brene Brown’s conversation with “Permission to Feel” author Marc Brackett. I encourage you to have a listen if you were unable to join us.
Next Thursday, we will discuss Reading and the Brain. Please have a listen and be ready to discuss a couple of big ideas you found to be pertinent to you and your child’s reading life.
