GCP Bali Mun: Acting for Change

A Grade 9 student, who had just joined the Model UN Club for the first time, had asked me: “It is a bit like acting, right?” a recurring question in this after-school activity. While our delegates may be pretending, they are also learning to act effectively on the world stage. By increasing their knowledge of international affairs, expanding their world views and developing vital leadership skills, Model UN Delegates are preparing to make a real impact in the world. Take it all from Ryan Naminski, the Leo Nevas Human Rights Fellow with the United Nations Association (UNA): “if more young people participate in Model UN, the world will likely see not only more great leaders, but ultimately more happy endings”.

Many MUN participants have become leaders in diplomacy, politics, law and media (e.g. Ban Ki-Moon, UN secretary general & Samuel L. Jackson, actor/producer).

It looks as if our delegates are not too far behind…
