IB Evaluation Visit: MYP
Dear Parents, Students and Friends of BIS,
Thank you to everyone who assisted in the successful IB Middle Years Programme Evaluation Visit to BIS in November!
The IB Evaluation Team has now shared their findings with us :
The Middle Years Programme at BIS is to be commended on:
- Encouraging and supporting students to be actively responsible for their own learning
- Meaningful reflection on service activities
- Positive and respectful interactions between students and teachers within the school
- The learner profile is pervasive in the school
The Middle Year’s Programme at BIS will continue to develop:

A system for the cyclic review of the planning of ATL skills

Ways to allow for meaningful opportunities for student service in action to arise from the written curriculum

Interdisciplinary unit plans that strengthen cross – curricular skills and deepen disciplinary understanding

Good practice and incorporate differentiation for students learning needs and styles into collaborative planning and reflection

The use of global contexts for inquiry based learning

Learning experiences to support language development of students and to address the diversity of student language needs, including those for students learning in a languages/s other than their mother tongue

Standardisation of assessment within the subject groups
