Message from the Head of School – May 24, 2019

We celebrated our Senior Class today. They completed their IB and BIS exams on Wednesday – so they were due for some celebrating! Today they enjoyed lunch with their parents at the courtyard, then we had them walk through the Walk of Fame to the MPR where each Senior was given time to say thank you for the opportunity to learn at Bali Island School, to thank their parents for all the support and to teachers who affected their journey. Then we opened the doors to the rest of the Secondary students, Nathan and Alba MC’d the event of video celebrations, music and performances.

⇒ Next stop: Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.

Thank you to community members who attended yesterday’s Board presentation on the Yayasan structure at BIS. The Board is appreciative of our community’s interest and continuing care for our school. Please find the presentation here.

⇒ Next step: BIS – The Year in Review Presentation, June 7 at 8:00 a.m.

Thank you to our Health and Physical Education department as well as our faculty and staff for running a smooth Mini-Olympics on Tuesday and BIS Athletics day this past Wednesday.

Thank you to our Arts department for providing parents and students the opportunity to watch the drama and music performances on Thursday afternoon. The performances were powerful!

Thank you to our PTA who worked all day on Wednesday to provide delicious food for our student body. Great support.

The Council of International Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges report came into BIS this week from the Preparatory Visit conducted in April. They have given us a green light to continue onto the next stage of the accreditation process – that being the self study. Congratulations BIS! A CIS survey hit your inbox today. Please fill it out and encourage your child, grade 4-12 to fill it out as well. The feedback we receive from this data will help to inform our responses to the self study. Thank you!
