30th Anniversary Celebration planning!
Dear Parents,
In September, BIS will be 30 years old. As part of our celebrations, we are planning an International Day Festival for Friday, September 2nd. With students from over 30 different nationalities already attending our school, this will be an opportunity for us to embrace and celebrate our diversity.
The tentative plan will be for all students to come to school on this morning as normal, but they will already be dressed in country specific colours or costumes with flags etc. The school will organise an international parade of nations to march to the covered court for some brief speeches and performances, and then the children will be allowed to enjoy our international stalls which will be set up on the field.
The PTFA is hoping to recruit as many of you as possible to organise and decorate our international stalls. Parent country representatives will be involved in creating attractive stalls in order to share cultural food, drink, games etc. from our countries. The school will provide a fund to help support parent volunteers prepare these stalls.
To assist with this process, we have created parent email groups according to nationality. You will soon be receiving an invitation from one of these groups to participate in this event. If you have been placed in a group that you do not identify with, please let Urko Masse (our IT Manager) know so that he make necessary changes. He can be contacted at itmanager@baliis.net
Please help us to make this a truly memorable occasion for our students and the entire BIS community.
Thank you,
