Information Session Career’s Test InterQuest: Monday Nov 7 from 3-4 PM in Room 5
Dear Grade 10-11 parents,
On Monday November 7th, a representative from Step One (a career guidance company specializing in working with international schools students) will be visiting BIS. She will hold an information session about the InterQuest career’s test they offer from 3:00-4:00 PM in Room 5. It is an elaborate, detailed and paid for career test. This test matches a student’s overall interests and abilities with careers and IB subject choices. Please see the explanation below from the Step One representative. Costs of the test have yet to be announced and are not part of the school fees. The test can be taken on a volunteer basis. The career test will be administered on December 12 from 3:00-5:30 PM.
Interquest Career Test
Every year thousands of students complain that they have difficulties when choosing their most suitable IB or university subject(s). Hastily made decisions may lead to costly mistakes both financially and emotionally.
InterQuest is a psychometric assessment that measures a student’s abilities and aptitudes such as Analytical, Numerical, Verbal and Spatial reasoning and his or her occupational interests. It identifies academic potential as well as personal interests, skills and preferences. The verbal component of the test has been translated into many languages. InterQuest has been developed in the UK by Cambridge Occupational Analysts and is being used at many international, American and British schools in Europe and SE Asia.
InterQuest will be administered on-line. It will take the students 2 hours 25 minutes to finish. The 16 page PDF report that each student will receive 2 to 3 weeks later provides them with a considerable number of self insights. It also indicates and describes future educational and career options including job descriptions and might challenge or confirm previous ideas. To see what the report looks like, please visit the Step One website.
Feedback. BIS will provide a group feedback for the students. For parents who would like to discuss the outcome of the report with a consultant from Step One we can arrange a Skype interview.
