Teacher recruitment for 2017-18 is complete!

Dear BIS Community,

I am pleased to say that we have hired all our new teachers for the 2017-18 school year.  They are all internationally experienced, IB-trained teachers coming to us from a variety of backgrounds and countries.

Aine Quinn (Irish)- will be teaching Physics as well as MYP science, she has experience with Physics, Biology, Chemistry and ESS.

Michele Mclay (New Zealander)- will be teaching Humanities and TOK along with being the MYP Coordinator.  Michele has worked as an MYP coordinator in her last two schools.

Shawn Knudson (American) – will be working as our Learning Support teacher and collaborating with all of our staff to help all our students reach their utmost potential.

Melanie Knudson (American) – will be teaching Grade 2 (Ibu Kristen is moving to Grade 5 and teaming with Ibu Nadia to teach the two sections).

Rosa Carbajal (American)-   will be teaching  MYP and DP Math courses.

Naina Staroverova (French)- will be teaching on our French and MYP drama classes.

And we have added a new position:
NoahJon Marshall (American)- will be our new head librarian and media specialist.  NoahJon has built the library at his previous school and is coming to us with wonderful ideas on how to incorporate literacy and research skills into our course work as well as promoting the library as a hub for learning here at BIS.

We are now in the process of transitioning and orienting our new teachers to the school in preparation for their start in July.

Best regards,

Denise Walsh

Head of School
