Literacy Day – Friday, September 8th

On Friday, September 8th, all of BIS will participate in Literacy Day (which coincides with the 50th anniversary of the world-wide International Literacy Day). Throughout the day there will be activities celebrating the ability to and the value of reading and writing to improve the quality of people’s lives. The day will start out with a whole school silent read on the field, and then other activities in secondary and will follow.  Mr. Marshall the Head Librarian will be coming around to classes this week and next to discuss the details with students and teachers. We are also looking for a few secondary students to read one story to PreK or Kindy students (the books will be provided). If you are interested in this or have any questions, please email Mr. Marshall at nmarshall@baliis.net.
