The Courtyard will open Monday!

Dear BIS community,

The new courtyard area will be opening on Monday, March 5th.

Initially, the courtyard will be used during the day by Diploma students (grades 11/12) and after-school for any students who are awaiting siblings in activities.  It may also be used for PTFA meetings or events.

Since the courtyard is a part of the school, all current school rules for behavior within campus and  for access to campus apply. Please review the expectations for behavior pubished in the parent/student handbook.

All students not in an activity or under the supervision of a teacher are expected to leave the campus by 3pm each day.  If a student must stay beyond 3pm and s/he is not in activity, then they should move to the courtyard and wait there until leaving.  Please note that the courtyard will be monitored by CCTV cameras.

There is a toilet available in the courtyard.  This is a single toilet and shall be used by anyone needing these facilities.  There should be no congregation in this area.

The link above contains the tender document which will be used to find a vendor for the courtyard space.  I would appreciate it if you would pass this document along to any service provider you feel would be a good match for our school and who may be interested in putting in a bid for this work.

The courtyard is a new area of our campus and its use will morph and expand over time.  It is a great addition to our campus and I am sure that will be integrated into our events.  I would like to thank the PTFA whose support has been vital in the development of this area.  The PTFA has given generously of its time and funds over the past year.

In recognition of the PTFAs work and in celebration for the opening of  this part of our campus, we will host a “Welcome to Term 4” event in the courtyard on April 5th (Thursday) from 5:30-7:30 for our staff and parents.   I hope that you will be able to attend.
