Library – Formal Opening

Dear BIS Community,

We hope you enjoy these photos from our Library Opening this Wednesday.

And this message from Mr. Marshall, our Teacher-Librarian.

“Thursday, March 8 saw an event that was much anticipated for quite a long time among the BIS community; after almost a year of planning, designing, renovations and improvements, the new library was officially opened to much excitement. The event featured various members of school showcasing their talents, a dedication and a ribbon cutting as well as an open house for parents to sign up for library accounts and tour the new primary and secondary library spaces as well as the brand new upstairs classroom.

The new library features a modern design that maximizes open space and an emphasis on comfort and flexibility. Besides the main library floor space, there is a quiet study area in addition to the aforementioned dedicated classroom. The library has procured 3 new databases this year, with more on the way as well hundreds of new books (with two more new book deliveries to come) encompassing all genres and reading levels.
Even though the library is open and functional, there will still be incremental improvements and new developments throughout the new year and beyond, so be sure to stop in to see for yourself. “
Best regards,
Denise Walsh
