BIS Students Shine at the 7th Annual Bali MUN Conference
On Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd, 29 BIS students (18 delegates and 11 pages) descended on the Prime Plaza Sanur Hotel to take part in the 7th Annual BaliMUN Conference. Hosted by Canggu Community School, the theme of the conference was “Global Governance and the Rise of New Threats”. 3 BIS students (Charles Kneipp, Dinda Winkler and Jay Yeon Lee) served as Chairs of various Committee rooms, ostensibly acting as the teachers and guides for the other delegates (which included 6 other schools including 2 from outside Bali). They displayed experience, maturity and leadership as they oversaw the hundreds of other delegates through the Conference proceedings.
As usual, BIS modeled greatness and continued to stack bricks in the tall wall clearly displaying that BIS is the top school on the island. Awards and recognition for the BIS delegation included Josiah Wong and Sofia Brohez (best Paige), Calum Leys, Sinan Nahel, Alba Romero (Leadership Award in their respective Committee rooms), Raihan Woodhouse, Zachary Sutcliffe, Isabel Fontan Ireland and Ralisha Woodhouse (Best Delegates in their respective Committee rooms).
(Charles also won “musical chairs” during the Banquet portion of the event which, judging upon his reaction, was the greatest moment in his life. Mr. Marshall has the exclusive video for anyone wanting to see this once in a lifetime happening).
Please congratulate the entire BIS delegation for their contributions, achievements and overall character during the Conference and stay tuned for more developments throughout the year.
