Message from the Head of School – April 26, 2019

If you were unable to attend my update this afternoon on the accreditation process, here’s the recap. BIS is in fine shape with all four accrediting agencies. We will begin our Self-Study process by asking all community members to complete the CIS survey. We will then spend next year reflecting on our programs and ensuring alignment to international standards in every aspect of our school’s program. Our target date for the evaluation visit is October 3, 2020.

I hope you have seen our new school video and have shared it with your social media network. Here are the links again:

Thank you to our Grade 4 students who shared their Marketplace learning with our community. I enjoyed seeing all of their products. They have raised 8 mill IDR for a local charity. Well done!

Mr. Brown’s Business Management students have also been raising funds for the community of Les Village in the North of Bali. Bath salts, caramels and flavoured salts have all been sold this week to support their understanding of business concepts and competition as well as provide CAS opportunities. Well done!

Swimming at BIS
Our IISSAC Swim Team landed safely in Surabaya today and begin competing this afternoon. The Australian School is hosting our BSSA Swim Carnival this year and unfortunately have to postpone the meet until Thursday. I am sure Mr. Sutherland will provide updates for all on Monday morning.
