BIS Athletics Results
Our BIS Athletics season has included the BIS Cross Country trials and BSSA Cross Country competition, the BIS Mini Olympics for PS to Gr 2 and on Wednesday the BIS Junior and Senior Athletics competitions. The season will culminate with the BSSA Athletics next Friday 31st of May.
In the Cross Country Baruna were first, just one point ahead of Dewi Sri.
In the BIS Mini Olympics Gr 1 and 2 students earn house points for their places and Ganesha were the champions with Dewi Sri in second.
In the Junior Athletics Dewi Sri were dominant but Ganesha ruled the seniors.
In the end it was the consistency of Sariswati that earned them the title of Champion House 2019 with Ganesha second, Baruna third and Dewi Sri dropping into fourth place.
We had some amazing efforts from individuals during the Junior and Senior competition with the following athletes dominating their age groups:
- Sienna Sutherland – 6 x 1st, 2 x 2nd
- Lucie Senes – 4 x 1st, 1 x 3rd
- Lilly Jones – 6 x 1st, 1 x 2nd
- Carl Dominik von Harrach – 7 x 1st, 1 x 2nd
- Natasha Klee – 7 x 1st
- Eduardo Perera Guzowski – 7 x 1st
- Manon Pecquery – 6 x 1st, 1 x 2nd, 1 x 3rd
We also had an outstanding number of records broken. All 50m winners set new records as this was the first time we have recorded the 50m sprint. Records were equalled or broken by the following athletes:
