PTA eNews Updates – August 23, 2019

Quote of the week – A positive attitude brings much gratitude. Think positive, be positive, speak positive, make it a HABIT.”

We had a great turn out this week for the monthly PTA meeting. And were very happy with the positive feedback from all of you wanting to help out and get involved with school events and activities!

Lots of happy tummy’s Wednesday thanks to the bake sale. Keep an eye out for further notice on your child’s grade bake sale date.

Helping Hands (We can always use more!)

The PTA would like to call upon any parents that would like to get involved with upcoming school activities and events. Helping hands are always welcome and greatly appreciated. This is also a great way to meet new people, make friends and feel more a part of the community. Don’t worry, we will not lock you into any commitments, but help when and where you can, would be fantastic. Please add your details to the sign-up sheet at the school entrance!

Please be reminded that all parents are invited to the upcoming PTA meeting on Wednesday 21st August. This is a great opportunity to find out information, and ask any questions you may have. The meeting will be held in the library at 8am.

Old T-shirts and plastic bottles wanted!

Grade 7 needs your help! In order to complete our service as action for EOTC next week, we need you to help us and bring old plastic bottles and old t-shirts. We will teach the students at the local school in Bedugal how to reuse old things and make them useful. If you could bring a few of these things it would be much appreciated, we will leave a box at the entrance where you can put plastic bottles and old t-shirts. We need these by next Monday.  Thanks so much!

Sports Donations

We would like to inform you that we will donate some sports equipment to a local school in Sangeh (Badung Regency) as a service activity for the EOTC program. Our plan is we will donate new chalks, badminton rackets, shuttlecock, net and soccer balls.

If you have anything you can donate- everything is welcome.

Please drop them off with Indira (Main Reception) by Monday 26th August.

BIS International Day

Dear BIS families from around the world,

What better way to teach our children about different cultures than by bringing them together for an afternoon of food and fun.

Friday 18th October will be our 4th annual BIS International day. Get ready to celebrate by showcasing our national and cultural diversity. We hope to have as many countries represented as possible, with food, games, traditional clothing or country colors to show off what makes us all unique.

Please keep an eye out for an email with us the relevant information and further details.

In the meantime, you can also contact Allison Jaquier (ajaquier@gmail.com) or the PTA at pta@baliis.net.

Cups and Crockery Wanted!

Please help us, (and clear out your cupboards) by donating any unwanted cups and/or cutlery and crockery, and help us reduce the use of plastic and paper items in the school. All donations are greatly appreciated.
