Counselor’s Corner – February 14, 2020

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Just as we are told on the airplane before takeoff, fasten your own seatbelt and adjust your mask first before helping others.  Be sure to be your best self for those you love by taking good care of yourselves first and foremost.

This week we had a visit from Curtin University,  and from Iis a truly global university with campuses in Australia, Dubai, Malaysia, Mauritius and Singapore and IE University in Spain.  Lecturer Mario Bertha http://marioberta.org/  from IE University in Segovia and Madrid, Spain spoke to Grade 12 students about “peak performance” during DP Hour on Feb. 13 and made parallels between this process used in in sports and in business to their work in the IB and how to achieve their best results on their exams in May. A few tips: eat well, exercise, get plenty of sleep, focus on the end goal and plan backward, and create routines for ongoing practice and improvement.
