Distance Learning

Thank you to all parents that completed our survey feeding back about the first week of our Distance Learning Programme at Bali IS. It has been very beneficial to sit down with teachers and review the feedback and see how we can improve our practice. Please review the BIS Distance Learning website for information and tips. If you have any questions please contact your child’s teacher or me at primaryprincipal@baliis.net

Click on the links below to see details of feedback from our first Student and Parent Survey on Distance Learning at Bali Island School. We received some very positive feedback and also information about areas that we can continue to improve.

My two major tips for supporting your child at home would be:

  1. Create a weekly schedule that works for you and your children
  2. Spend time at the start of their learning day to go over the daily tasks that have been set, watch the teacher videos, read any instructions and then work out how they will work through them during the day. This also applies to our upper primary students who still require support with their learning.

Stop the Press!! As I am looking at the students’ work on SeeSaw, I am so pleased to see the parents getting involved and hopefully having fun with their children – thank you all so much!

Thank You For the Music

Pak Paulus Arianto, father of Jeho in Grade 3 organsied a team from his company, AVB Media Asia to record and edit the show for us. We are very grateful to him for this and would like to share the video with you all. There are two videos, a 3 minute highlight video and a 60 minute full version. Please go to the links below to download the movies and organise a family movie night to watch the show again.

Small Talk Student Newspaper

Check out the 2nd issue of Small Talk, the BIS Primary newspaper. Our 7 Small Talk journalists have worked very hard at creating, writing, researching editing and photographing this most recent issue. Check out Volume II here (feel free to download it as well).

eBooks and Audiobooks

For your reminder, the BIS Library has thousands of ebooks and audiobooks available for your reading needs while school campus is closed. All of the available books can be found here. Some require a log in (you can use the Library’s log in and do not need to create your own), but the directions are already included and access to all books is free. There are audio and ebooks as well as offerings in multiple languages. Read the short descriptions associated with each website. They are books of all levels, genres and topics.

Please email Mr. Marshall at nmarshall@baliis.net with any questions or for more information.
