PTA eNews Updates – April 24, 2020

Dear Parents,

We hope you are all safe and well at this time. With the end of the school year approaching, so comes the end of our time as PTA members. The position of chairperson, secretary, and treasurer is now open to new parents. Please see below the duties for each position. If you are interested in joining, please contact Sarah Prowting or Armalina Sibson.

DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS OF THE COMMITTEE

8.1. Chairperson

  • Preside at all PTA meetings
  • Act as a representative of the PTA
  • Plan the annual PTA calendar of events in collaboration with the Head of School
  • Ensure effective communication exists among all members and between the PTA and the school.
  • Encourage other parents and teachers to participate in PTA activities.
  • Attend regular meetings with the School Leadership Team.

8.2. Secretary

  • Conduct the correspondence of the PTA
  • Keep full and correct minutes of meeting proceedings, and distribute copies of the same to all members at every PTA meeting.
  • Maintain an original set of PTA records/correspondence in the BIS administration office.
  • Prepare an agenda for every PTA meeting, & send it out along with the previous meeting minutes to the office manager to be circulated to all members.
  • Prepare updates on PTA activities for inclusion in the school newsletter.
  • Maintain an electronic folder and update it on the PTA google drive.
  • Encourage other parents, teachers to participate in PTA activities.

8.3.  Treasurer

  • Keep accurate accounts of receipts and expenditures and prepare a financial statement for each PTA meeting.
  • Pay all accounts promptly when authorized by a meeting.
  • Prepare monthly & annual statements.
  • Ensure all PTA financial records are complete and stored at the PTA safe located in the main school office.
  • Encourage other parents, teachers to participate in PTA activities.
