Message from the Head of School – December 4, 2020

How can it be December already? This year, with all of its ups and downs, sure has flown by.

On Monday of this week, we learned that the High School Division earned an “A” Rating from the National Accreditation Body. Our full compliance with the requirements including the alignment with National compulsory subjects and our relationships with our sister schools has been well recognized. Congratulations to everyone involved!

I am happy to report that the Health Dinas visited BIS on Thursday this week and were very happy with the modifications we have made with our facilities and Covid health protocols. Next step is to have the Education Dinas look over our protocols and then we will submit our application.

The PTA this year is working hard behind the scenes on a few initiatives. The first is to do some fundraising as they are able. Jinae, Novi, and many others have been involved in a Coffee Mug and Calendar fundraiser in which families can submit a picture to have printed on those items for the holidays – that information will be shared early next week – just in time for the Holidays! The other initiative has been to ask small business owners within our community to advertise “BIS Specials” which would help the business through the depressed economy, earn the BIS PTA some money, and provide a service to our community members – a win-win-win situation – BIS families helping BIS families. If you are interested in having your small business advertised through our PTA, please contact Jinae or Novi.

Next week’s Distance Learning Support schedule is below. Please note we will return to Week I for the week of December 14-18.
