Message from the Head of School – June 10, 2021

Pride
Last week my message focused on thanking you, BIS families, who trusted us and stayed with us through the challenges of the global pandemic. This week I would like to focus on the pride I feel each and every day walking through the gates of Bali Island School.

I am chock full of pride in each of the 108 BIS employees who made this school year a success. It began back in July, painting our blue bricks and building sinks. Students and faculty then volunteered to help our marketing team create our Covid protocol videos. The coordinators created the roadmap for the year, including our accreditation visit and a complete mapping of our curriculum. Our security staff ensured our protocols were followed throughout the year and our maintenance staff helped to keep the campus ready for action if, when and whenever students would be supported or consulted. The cleaning crew swept in after each class ensuring classrooms were safe places for teaching and learning. The Faculty planned units and lessons, reflected after each and adapted to the needs of the modality and to student needs. They taught online, they taught hybrid and they taught face to face.

Our Faculty and Staff did all this with a smile on their faces (hidden behind masks), with great care for each other and our students, while experiencing so many unknowns.

Finally, I am proud of the Board. They have strategized and lobbied for your child’s right to education and were instrumental in positioning Bali Island School to remain a leader of schools in Bali and ‘the’ school for families seeking an internationally minded education for their child.

Please help me in wishing our Faculty and Staff best wishes as they continue their journeys in new and exciting places:

  • Agung Adi Susila
  • Ketut Radnyanawati
  • I Wayan Sana
  • Made Artini

To learn about the outgoing and incoming faculty, please refer to the eNews shared on April 30, 2021.

I will continue to update our community via emails regarding school year 21-22 as more information becomes available.

Take some time for yourself this summer. Read a book. Be creative. Descreen. Stay safe, healthy and strong!
