Secondary Newsletter 37 – June 10, 2021
Holiday Facility Use
The BIS Sports Facilities will continue to be available through the school holidays via the online booking calendar.
Availability
- The facilities will not be available when the vaccination program is taking place from June 14th to approximately 26th of June
- Otherwise, they are available 7 days a week from 6.00 am – 7.00 pm
- There are no coached training groups registered so use is for family groups only.
Facility use guidelines:
- Use is limited to groups of 6 BIS students and a supervising parent. More parents are permitted but at the expense of student numbers – the group total cannot exceed 7 persons.
- No booking – no entry – no exemption
- Students MUST be accompanied and supervised by a parent for the duration of the booking
- The parent supervisor must sign the ‘BIS Facility Use Waiver’ book at security prior to each use and must ensure all users under their supervision follow BIS COVID Policy.
- Strictly family use only – no friends or coaches permitted
- Individual family use is limited to 1 hr/day.
- To ensure a fair distribution of popular time slots, individual families cannot book the same time on consecutive days (eg. Mon-Fri, 6-7 am)
Grade 10 I&S Holocaust Denial Rebuttal Posters
The Grade 10s worked right through to the end with some still working on their Holocaust denial rebuttals at 23:00 at night! Talk about dedication. Even when we tried to start our final class with a game after 20 minutes the students still wanted 5 more minutes to complete their posters… If they keep this up I am sure they will all be flying in Grade 11 and Grade 12.
Below are some of their posters. Well done class!
PSAT
For students in grades 10 and 11 next year who would like to take the PSAT exam in October, please register prior to the summer break by emailing Ibu Thari in the Counseling Office at: counselorsecretary@baliis.net. The PSAT is a practice version of the SAT exam used in university admissions in North America. Scores are for your own use only and are not sent to universities.
