Message from the Head of School – March 18, 2022

Term 4
We have approval to open at 50% capacity on Monday, March 28 for “Simulation” days. These days will allow our students to renew their understanding and practice of our covid protocols.   We will provide the following on campus learning opportunities:

South Campus Entry:
Preschool 3 every day from 8:15 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
Preschool 4 every day from 8:15 – 12:30 p.m.
K/1 every day from 8:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

North or South Campus Entry:
Grade 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 Monday – March 28, & Wednesday – March 30 (7:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.)
Grade 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 Tuesday – March 29 (7:30 a.m. – 2:45 p.m.), & Thursday – March 31 (7:45 – 12:00 noon)

Please note: March 31 is a ½ day for Professional Development

Based on recent media communication it appears that schools in Bali will be allowed to provide face to face at 100% levels beginning Friday April 1. If that occurs, BIS will comply immediately.

The local Puskesmas will be using our covered courts for vaccinations on March 28 and 29. This makes that side of the campus off limits for students. HPE classes will be taught on the small field or basketball court. 

Recess and lunches will be held in shady areas on this side of campus as well. Our lunch providers will begin to provide meals on April 1 (if 100%), so please ensure you or your child packs healthy snacks and lunch during the “Simulation” days.

Mandatory mask wearing, washing of hands and physical distancing remain in effect through Term 4 at Bali Island School.

I’ll ask all faculty members and Senior students who drive to campus to use the parking areas in the Garden Parking Lot beginning on Monday March 28.

Primary and Secondary Conference Feedback
Thank you for participating in your child’s conferences today. Please provide feedback about the conference day here. We will use this to determine areas of improvement and strength for future conferences.

Boosters Available to BIS Community 18+
Ibu Surya and Ibu Yunita have been able to secure booster vaccinations for our community aged 18 and above. The boosters will be available March 24-25 or March 28-29 at BIS from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines are available. Please indicate your interest to nurse@baliis.net
