BSSA Junior and Senior Finals

This week the BSSA Football Finals for Junior and Senior Student-Athletes were held in three different venues. Not less than 113 Student-Athletes have represented BIS during this football season, being the only school on the island that was proudly represented in all year groups in both sections boys and girls. Congratulations to all parents and students for that!

BIS once again hosted the 9 and 10 year old boys finals on our grounds highlighting the abilities of our support staff, parents, and our teaching staff to go above and beyond and to show the entire Bali school community what we are capable of.

A huge thank you to our coaches, who shared their knowledge and enthusiasm throughout the season: Mr. Ingram, Mr. Klaus, Ibu Kristen, Pak Berata, Ibu Alyshia, Pak Agas, Ms. Lobo, Mr, Marshall, Mr. LuFa and Pak Nyoman.

To our DP Student-Coaches: Yuto, Josiah, Manon, Adrien, Kenneth, Avi, Calum, Ola, Agus, Alano, Ellena, Sophia and Kaira. Thank you for being fantastic role models for the younger generations at BIS.

Here are the results:

Senior Girls A Team: Champions of the A Division! The girls displayed great teamwork throughout the whole tournament and dominated their opponents. Well played and Congratulations!

Senior Girls B Team: Champions of the B Division! In the B division we had three teams tied at the end. Thankfully, after a nerve wrecking penalty shootout, the girls won and were able to bring the trophy home!  Congratulations!

Senior Boys A Team: Played great football reaching the semifinals. Heartbreaking defeat in penalties against Dyatmika.

Senior Boys B Team: Despite playing against older and therefore physically superior teams, BIS players did not shy away from the challenge. Tied one and lost one game. Well played boys!

13-15 Girls A and 11-12 Girls Teams: Dominated their games, displaying great teamwork througout the whole season. They ended up with losingin the penalty shootout in the finals and semifinals respectively. Excellent performances!

9-10 Girls: These girls were an example of resilience for all BSSA teams. Because other schools did not have a 9-10 girls team, they had to play against all boys, mixed teams and even an 11-12 girls team! They did it with the best of their attitudes and with a smile on their faces. Well deserved Champion of the 9-10 category! Congratulations!

9-10 Boys: The boys made it to the semifinals. Hard opponents with almost all of them in the 10 year old range. We definitely have a good team for next year!

Lastly, 13-15 Boys A&B, 13-15 Girls B and 11-12 Boys Teams: They did not make it to the semifinals this time. This is a year to continue acquiring experience and come back stronger next year!

There will be one last friendly game next week for all teams as a farewell to this great season.

Well played Dragons!!!

Best regards,

Javier
