Message from the Head of School – February 17, 2023
IMPORTANT: Please recall that the deadline for re-enrollment for current BIS students is Friday, 17th March. After this date, enrollment will be opened up to the families who are on the waiting lists. You may re-enroll your child/children via this link and by paying the 15 million IDR registration fee to guarantee your place(s) for the next school year, 2023-24.
Thanks to all parents who have invested time in our strategic planning process. I shall now ensure that the identified strategic goals are financially accountable and measurable in terms of successful implementation. The plan will be finalized, as promised, by the end of the academic year and shared with our community.
Our student-led conferences/3-way conferences will take place on Friday, March 17th. Based on parent feedback, we will continue with face-to-face/online meetings in the MYP & DP morning/afternoon, respectively, and face-to-face only in the PYP, all day. Additionally, also based on feedback, in the MYP/DP, meetings will take place in ‘common’ areas, e.g. the MPR and Library. PYP meetings will take place in the classrooms. A link to make appointment requests and other details will be sent soon. Note; students are expected to attend all meetings, both face-to-face and online. Classes will be suspended, but students will accompany their parents to school.
We note that lunches/snacks and other items are being delivered to school after 0745, which is disturbing class time. However, we wish our students to become better organized and teach them independence and essential self-organization skills. Therefore, in order to reduce the number of non-staff members on campus in the morning, I wish to bring to attention article 3.4 of the Parent-Student Handbook, which states “No nanny (pembantu) or driver is permitted to enter the BIS campus between 7.45am and 2.45pm”. This will also help with safeguarding. Therefore, please help us implement our handbook procedures by not asking drivers and nannies to be on campus delivering lunches/snacks and other items out with these times.
The following overseas faculty members will move on from BIS at the end of this academic year. We wish them a bright future and wish to thank them all for their contributions to our school and community during their tenures.
