PYP Coordinator SY20-21 Announcement
It is with great pleasure that I announce the appointment of Ms. Nadia Demolder as our next PYP Coordinator. Nadia has been a valued member of our community since August of 2013. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Studies (2008) and a Higher Diploma in Primary Education (2010). She recently completed a Master’s degree in Education (2019). Nadia has taught Grade 5 and currently teaches Grade 1. She has earned the respect and trust of her colleagues through her dedication to her craft, her contagious spirit of lifelong learning and through her meticulous planning, organization and obvious joy she brings each day to her classroom and BIS. Please help me to congratulate Nadia!
Tuition Fee Restructure
It is a pleasure to announce that tuition fees have been restructured based on the following core principles:
- To continue to be the school of choice for internationally-minded families
- To align with fee structures of the IB
The new tuition fees will be posted on our webpage today! I will share more at the Head of School Coffee on January 15 right after the PTA Meeting.
Happy Holidays!
I wish you all the happiest of holidays. See you in 2020!
‘Twas the day before the holidays and all through our school
Everyone was in free dress, looking quite cool
The Fun Run was complete, a run for a cause
Our charities would benefit, community service dressed up as Clause
What a semester it had been, August seems so long ago
But you did it, you made it, a semester of learning – wrapped up with a bow
The children were proud of their perseverance and grit
They failed, reflected, they improved a lot – and a bit
The students were welcoming to all every day
They were Internationally-Minded – the B – I – S way
Community members at BIS share values the same
And we can shout them out loud, we know them by name
On Inquirers, On Risk Takers, On Reflectors and Knowers
Principled, Balanced, and Caring as growers
Open-minded and thinkers, communicators too
These are our values – at BIS – through and through
The faculty and staff deserved a holiday break
After all the planning and teaching and ASA’s – for goodness sake
BIS Parents are the best, so supportive and kind
They too were looking forward to a chance to unwind
And then in a twinkling, I heard from behind the wall
Saint Nick ! Santa Clause! Oh boy – I hope he doesn’t fall
Santa has a candy cane for you
You can get it from him after the assembly – when it’s through
Ho Ho Ho – make beautiful memories with friends and family
We’ll see you in the New Year – in 20 – twenty!
