Message from the Head of School – December 7, 2018
Tuition SY19-20:
The Bali Island School, the BIS Board and I are pleased to announce that for school year 2019-2020 there will be zero percent (0%) increase in tuition. I would like to commend the Board for their efforts to keep our tuition rates competitive while also ensuring our product matches our Vision and Mission statements of providing a World Class educational experience to each child.
Calendar Change:
The Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Labor and the Ministry of Bureaucracy announced that the Ramadan holidays in June have been moved. BIS will follow their lead and move the June 4 and 5 holidays to June 5 and 6. Please take note and plan accordingly. We have made the change on all published calendars.
December 14 – Free Dress:
To help usher in the holidays all students are free to wear comfortable clothing on December 14. Please keep things tasteful with shorts and shirts being of the appropriate length and messages on clothing promoting healthy habits if the article does have a message.
Calendar SY19-20:
Our Calendar is out for next school year – please plan accordingly. We thank you for considering the importance of school attendance when planning holidays and trips. A few items to note:
- We have 184 contact days scheduled. 3 more than this year’s calendar.
- We have also scheduled 8 ½ days in which students will leave campus at 12:00 noon, providing time for faculty to collaborate and learn with one another, and time for us to complete our self-study in preparation of our accreditation visit.

BSSA Senior Volleyball:
Our girls team finished in 3rd place and our boys are Champions. Check out the championship point on our Twitter feed @baliislandsch.
Pool Update:
Let it rain! We are filling the pool. Thanks to Pak Heri for his oversight and attention. Thanks as well to our swimming community for your patience.
PTA:
Thank you again to our super active PTA for holding barbecues, movie nights and charity drives as we head into the holidays. There are so many ways to be involved in your child’s school and we certainly appreciate those of you who do so on a regular basis. I would encourage you to attend the PTA meetings, help out at the bake sales and barbecues and come enjoy a movie with your child and his/her friends. Great things are happening at BIS!
