From the Secondary Principal

Dear Parents,

We welcome Mr Sam Sareen as our new secondary Maths teacher, who started teaching this week. He comes to us from the UK, having taught in Mexico. I’m sure you will see him around the campus.

Thanks to Ms Holley for organizing a very successful University Fair on Wednesday, which was bursting at the seams with students and parents. It was an inspiration to many of our students to do well in school and look towards the future and the possibilities that are open to them with a good IBDP Diploma.

Congratulations to our football teams for their performances this week. Girls and boys represented the school with great spirit and teamwork. Thanks also to the coaches who spend a lot of time training the students.

Next week is Spirit Week throughout the school. The secondary themes are:

  • Monday: Movie Monday
  • Tuesday: Heroes vs. Villains
  • Wednesday: Homeroom Wars
  • Thursday: Tribal Thursday – you can create your own tribe
  • Friday: Freaky Friday

Please make sure that your children’s costumes are not offensive in any way.

We continue our Parent Information Sessions with Ms Coburn explaining MYP assessment on Monday. The printing of the schedule of sessions for the year was slightly delayed, but should be sent home today with your child. Please ask them for it and put it in a prominent place so that you can plan ahead for sessions that are useful to you. At the same time they should also have our new Calendar of Events for the year, again so that we can all plan ahead!

Best wishes,

Helen
