Upcoming visit from CIS, WASC and IBO

Dear BIS Community,

As you may be aware, the school will be hosting a visit from representatives of CIS, WASC and all three IB programmes (PYP, MYP and DP) . This visit is part of our normal cycle of accreditation and authorization with these institutions. We will host eight people at school from Monday to Wednesday. These people will be reviewing all aspects of the school’s systems and curriculum as well as meeting many members of community.

All of the BIS staff members, many parents and students and the school Board have been preparing for this visit for over a year. We have reflected upon our programmes, identified areas of strength and challenges as well as plans for school growth. This has been a very helpful process for us and, indeed, we have moved several of our challenges into strengths from the time the process started.

We invite these visitors regularly because we have chosen to be an accredited school. This means that we use this process of reflection, reporting and visits to help our school improve. Therefore, the school is embracing this experience as one that can only have positive outcomes for our students.
