The Personal Project Exhibition

On February 25th from 11:40 – 3pm in the MPR, Grade 10 students will be exhibiting their Personal projects to MYP students, teachers, parents and friends who are interested in finding out more about this exciting component of the MYP programme.

What is the Personal project?

The Personal Project lies at the very heart of the MYP and serves as a culmination of the inquiry process in the programme. Students are able to explore a passion or fascination and pursue this to develop a meaningful outcome or “product”. While the outcome of the project is significant, the focus is on the process students undergo. As they research and explore their topic, the product and their chosen Global context, through interviews, visits, texts and a multitude of other resources, students continuously reflect on the information they collect and how they do so, deepening their understanding of Approaches to Learning and themselves as a learner.

As the Grade 10 students pass this milestone the Grade 9 students are warming up to get started for themselves. On February 25th from 12.30 – 1:15, I would like to invite parents and guardians of Grade 9 students to attend an explanatory session on the Personal project in Room 1 which will be followed by the exhibition.
