Primary Principal Update – New Dismissal Pass for Primary Students

Dear Parents,

I hope you are enjoying our run of long weekends.

Thank you to those of you who were able to join us during the 5th Grade Exhibition and the 4th Grade Market. It was also lovely to see so many of you walking around our new Community Garden last week.

The main purpose of today’s update is to inform you that we would like to improve our current security protocols for dismissing primary students during the school day between 7:45 and 2:45.

Typically, families inform homeroom teachers or the secretary that students need to leave early for a variety of reasons such as needing to visit the doctor or the immigration office. I ask that families continue to do this.

As an additional security precaution, parents (or designated adults) will now be expected to collect a “Primary Early Dismissal Pass” from the Primary Office. Our security guards will not allow primary students to leave the school campus during the school day unless they are accompanied by an appropriate adult holding an early dismissal pass. Please note that if you are collecting two children, you will need two passes. Thank you to those parents who assisted us in developing this new security measure.

As always, thank you for your continuous positive support.

Warm regards,

Alan Lorenzini
