IISSAC SWIMMING 2017 RESULTS – BALI DUAL CHAMPIONS

What a wonderful weekend of swimming!

On Friday we welcomed 5 schools from Java and began the 2017 IISSAC Swimming Competition with individual medley races. Saturday was mainly heats of all the individual strokes with I/M finals and the Medley Relay finals. Sunday was business day completing all finals and culminating with the freestyle relays.

Throughout the weekend our swimmers performed magnificently earning no less than 78 medals including 23 gold. We also set 4 new IISSAC records including the U/10 medley relay team and
freestyle relay team (Douglas, Jamie, Ayden, Eduardo), and Alex Shedd, who broke records in the 10/11 yrs backstroke and butterfly events.

Big thanks must go to Mr Lennan, Ms Wood and Ms Walsh for their coaching efforts and organisation on the weekend and also to Mr Walsh for working hard in the marshalling area all weekend.

Mr Paul Jones had his superb timing system in place and worked tirelessly in the lead up weeks inputting swimmer data and entries and then ran the system faultlessly all weekend. We had an enthusiastic, dedicated and professional team of parents, all dressed in yellow ‘official’ shirts donated by Mrs Vina Shedd, who performed impeccably as timers from start to finish.

When the points were tallied, Bali was simply too strong in both the boys and girls competition securing one of the more dominant victories in many years.
