The 6th Annual Bali MUN Conference last week
This past Friday and Saturday the BIS Model United Nations delegation (and paiges) descended on the Sanur Paradise Plaza Hotel in Bali to participate in the 6th Annual Bali MUN Conference along with other island schools. BIS represented well, and was, by most observers’ account, the most active, collaborative, informed and visible school of the entire event. BIS had Committee Chair people at multiple General Assemblies (who did a marvelous job at keeping the Assemblies running and in order), insightful yet streamlined comments and questions during debate, students who worked well with other students/countries, and added some much needed energy, humor and interesting points to the debates.
Our paiges (message passers) were attentive and did a lot of learning on the fly. A number of BIS students were recognized with awards; (9th grader Martin Bale was chosen as the delegate “Most Likely To Start World War III”, Siwoo Kim was chosen as “Most Improved Delegate” and Jae Yeon Lee and Stefany Bourgeois won the “Diplomacy” award).
Congratulations to all of our winners and participants.
Mr. Marshall
