Message from incoming Secondary Principal – Ross Ferris

Dear BIS Community,

I have lived and worked in IB World Schools in China, Japan, Bangladesh and Mauritius since January, 2005. I have been fortunate to experience a diverse range of leadership positions and various cultures and lifestyles in that time. I pride myself on ensuring that student learning and welfare are the highest priorities when making decisions as a leader in schools. Educators have a responsibility to equip students with the skills for success in a fast changing world where many jobs that they will be required to perform do not even exist at this point in time. I believe strongly in developing the Approaches to Learning skills throughout a student’s secondary education, as they will shape their success at and beyond school. I am looking forward to joining Bali Island School in 2018/19 and learning with the students, teachers and parents and “Engaging and empowering globally-minded, confident learners to reach their utmost potential in an active, creative and respectful learning community.”
