BIS Students at MYMUN XV in Kuala Lumpur

What is MUN? MUN is a unique experience that allows students to learn more about the world issues of today. Students model the debates of the United Nations. Each student delegate is assigned both a country and a world issue. The delegates conduct the research necessary to understand the issue and their assigned country’s stand on the issue. A resolution paper outlining a potential solution to the issue is created along with a supporting opening statement and then the delegate is ready to test out their solution in an MUN conference.

This year our middle school delegates represented India and spent many lunches preparing for MYMUN XV. In the end all of our hard work paid off as our delegates went into the conference confident in their abilities to defend their resolutions, join forces with allies and contribute to the debate. The delegates may have entered the conference green with no experience but have come out with a full understanding of how MUN works and an eagerness to do it again.
